Why I won't be watching Live 8

During Live 8’s broadcast from London, Bob Geldof scolded the ‘cynical’ press who have derided his efforts, “who question why we should even try.” He then brought out a beautiful Ethiopian girl who was (as he said) 10 minutes from death when he put Live Aid in 1985. But there she was, in the flesh, standing in front of 200,000 people in Hyde Park. Madonna came out, kissed her on the lips and pulled her around like a reluctant prop for the first few minutes of “Like a Prayer.”
